Mint Café Bar... case study
Hospitality I.T. recently installed their Maitre'D EPoS system into the breathtaking new bar & restaurant complex, The Mint Café Bar, Cookstown. This development spans three floors and incorporates several bars, a night club and serves food throughout the day.
The Installation The owners were keen to get Mint open in time for the run up to Christmas, and Hospitality I.T. were happy to accommodate this short lead time, working rapidly to ensure the installation was kept to a firm schedule. As part of the installation Hospitality I.T. were on-site in a support capacity throughout the first night's VIP opening. The site had initially ordered 10 till units, which then rose to a total of 12 shortly after opening as business levels demanded.
Wireless Units Serving food over two floors with a remote kitchen location meant an innovative solution was required. Mint wanted to have two terminals available to staff on the floor for order entering during the busy lunch and evening periods but did not want these terminals in position after food service finished. Hospitality I.T. provided two terminals to run wirelessly that can be moved throughout the business as required.
Stock Control Mint Café Bar has recently begun to use the Maitre'D Inventory module to control stock and assist with optimum ordering levels. They are starting to reap the benefits of this module with more streamlined product management and simplified purchase ordering. The Inventory module assists in the reduction of waste and theft, and increases profit margins by identifying menu items with high margins that can be promoted and low margin items where the recipe should be adjusted. With full Purchase Order Processing and a wealth of reports, this module pays for itself in the first month alone.
Biometric Time & Attendance With the large number of staff required for this extensive 3 floor site, Mint opted for the Time & Attendance module which gives managers the tools required to analyse efficiency of staff and assist with payroll calculation. Staff can be scheduled weekly in advance and upcoming labour costs can therefore be accurately predicted. The added security of staff signing in using fingerprint biometric scanning ensures time sheets are accurate and there is more control over payroll costs.
